An oil pressure test can help deduce if the oil pressure sensor has failed, or if the oil pump itself is no longer operating correctly. Ford TSB 09-9-7 says replacing the grooved nylon FEAD (front end accessory drive) idle pulley with P/N 6L3Z-6C348-A should eliminate the noise. you might notice a leak from it ,or a low oil pressure reading on the gage,you might also have the car die out at times,they don't always leak when they go bad,they can just simply go out,usually though you,ll notice a drop in oil pressure according to the gage,if you suspect this is the problem just change it,their not that expensive,and they do go bad,sometimes,or you can have a shop check. Too much oil in the bearing bracket is a little messy since it will drain out. One way of having low oil pressure without a bearing knock is to have a badly worn oil pump and low oil flow rate. Bad bearings could be causing this in both components. Checked the timing chain, tensioner and the chain tightener. Also, we get low oil pressure to the chain tightener as the engine gets hot.
